Every finance calculator on GuideCalculator uses the same formulas Indian banks, mutual fund houses, and the Income Tax Department apply when they quote EMIs, SIP maturity values, or tax liability. The math runs locally in your browser — no inputs are sent to a server, so you can model your finances privately.
For investment calculators (SIP, lumpsum, FD, PPF, CAGR, compound interest), we use the standard compound-interest formulas with monthly or yearly compounding as appropriate. For loan calculators (home loan, auto loan, construction loan), we use the reducing-balance EMI formula EMI = P × r × (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1) where r is the monthly rate and n is the tenure in months. For tax calculators, we apply current Indian slabs for both the old and new regime.
A SIP calculator answers “will my monthly investment hit my goal?”; an EMI calculator answers “can I afford this loan?”; an income-tax calculator answers “which regime saves me more?” — but the right financial decision usually involves all three at once. Open a calculator on any page and the related-calculators block under the result lets you jump to the next question without losing your numbers.
For long-form planning, start with the Personal Finance Planner — it combines income, expenses, debts, and investments into a single picture and points you at the specific calculators that move the needle.
